Richland was a busy place last Saturday, as the city hosted the annual Pig Fest and dedicated a new downtown mural.
Pig Fest brought tons of people to town to enjoy arts & crafts, food, carnival rides, and live entertainment. The featured entertainment was the Slaughter Creek Band.
One of the other highlights was a gun raffle conducted by American Legion Post 128 (won by Steve Hubbard).
A special ceremony was held to dedicate the mural on the south face of Five Star Credit Union at Broad and Wall Streets. Artist Christopher Johnson recently painted the mural, which was financed in part by a $5,000 grant to the Stewart County Historical Commission from the Georgia Department of Economic Development's Vibrant Communities program.
