The improved Marion County High School football team soared back into the State Playoffs for the first time in five years but had the misfortune of drawing No. 1 ranked (and last year's state runner-up) Manchester High on the road in the first round. The Blue Devils ended the Eagles' season with a 49-6 victory.
"They're ranked No. 1 for a reason," said Head Coach Billy Law. "They were good on offense, defense, and special teams. Our guys played hard but they were just too good."
Manchester's college recruit Justus Terry, a 6-5, 275-pound lineman heavily recruited by UGA and other big-time teams, had missed the Blue Devils' last couple of games but returned last Friday - and played on both sides of the ball.
