Schley Schools Honored as Masters of Math

The Schley County School System received a great honor - actually two of them - last week. State School Superintendent Richard Woods made the drive from Atlanta to Ellaville to personally tell them their efforts have been adding up.
Woods presented the "Master of Mathematics Banner" to both Schley County Elementary School and Schley County Middle School.
Schools were recognized for achievement or growth in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner level or above in mathematics. The criteria for the 2023-2024 Math Leader Awards recognize the crucial importance of numeracy skills in fifth and eighth grades, and require higher growth from schools with lower achievement levels.
