Parents are Eligible for Scholarships to Use at Private Schools
The Georgia Legislature passed a law last year that was designed to give parents of students in lower performing schools an opportunity to send their kids elsewhere by providing scholarships to help pay for tuition at private schools.
 Many people believe the basic premise to be a good one. However, the devil, as they say, is in the details. Now that the law is being put into action, many people are not happy with the details.
 Also, the "lower performing" threshold was set as the bottom quartile, meaning a whopping 25% of all schools in the state now carry the "lower performing" designation. That's 512 schools.
