Marion County's Yuchi History

Yuchi - "Children of the Sun" (Ochee, Uchi, Uchee, Tsoyaha, Coyaha)
(Note: This research was done to document the history of the Michael G. Brady lands in Northern Marion County. His 3,500 acres were southeast of Fort Perry and ran along what is now Shoal Creek.)
Michael G Brady arrived from Ireland in the 1830s and settled on 3,500 acres of land running along the Shoal Creek in northern Marion County. This land is about 3 miles southeast of Fort Perry, centered along what is now Brady Road.
Prior to their arrival, the Yuchi people used this and adjoining lands for their hunting and fishing grounds. According to Will...
