Marion Public Library Receives Grant for Small & Rural Libraries
$20,000 Will Help Residents with Ambulatory Disabilities
The Marion County Public Library has been selected as one of 300 libraries to participate in round three of Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities.
The competitive award comes with a $20,000 grant that will help the library improve accessibility to its facilities, a distinction granted to only 50 of the 300 projects being funded in this round.
