The Marion County High School football team saw its first preseason action last Friday in a scrimmage against Hardaway High School in Columbus. The varsity squad fell to the Hawks in a tight defensive battle, 0-7. The fourth quarter was used to give the junior varsity players time on the field.
"There definitely were some positives to work with," said Head Coach Jeff Collins. "We had five starters out (injuries, vacations, etc.) but at least three of them should be ready for the first game of the regular season. We had a lot of young kids playing and getting experience."
Everybody on the roster made it into the game.
