There's a new leader in the dugout this year for the Schley County High School varsity softball team, although he is far from "new" to coaching or to the athletes at SCHS.
Earl Dupree has been promoted to the varsity softball head coaching position after coaching middle school softball last year (his Lady Wildcats were region champs). He has also been an assistant football and baseball coach.
He got his start at Hawkinsville High School, where he coached football and baseball, and he is in his eighth year at Schley County.
During his tenure he has been a part of state runner up teams in baseball (2019) and football (2022), quarterfinal teams in baseball (2023) and football (2023), and numerous "Elite 8" and "Sweet 16" runs.
