The Chattahoochee County Football Coaching Carousel appears to be stopping with the hiring of Mike Nash, who is hoping to give the program some much-needed consistency as the ninth head coach in just 15 years.
The veteran coach said there are several reasons why he wanted to step in and lead the program that has seen so much turnover and posted a 9-22 record over the last three seasons.
"My granddaughter moved here with my daughter," said Coach Nash. "Through that I learned about 'ChattCo' and realized that these kids need someone willing to stay long enough to fix things. I felt called to be the one to do that."
He knows it won't be easy, but few things that are worthwhile ever are. He knows that firsthand because he has "been there and done that."
