The Marion County High varsity softball team beat Shaw High and fell in a competitive game against Lamar County recently. They are off to a 5-1 start to the 2025 season.
Marion 10, Shaw 6: After both teams scored 1 run in the first inning, the Lady Eagles pushed 5 runs across the plate to take a commanding 6-1 lead in the second inning. They went on to win 10-6.
Lindsey Bagley earned the win in the pitcher's circle and also helped lead the offense.
Bagley went the distance and struck out a dozen batters (3 earned runs, 9 hits, 1 walk). At the plate, she went 3-for-5 with a double and drove in a run.
Haleigh Frazier was also 3-for-5 and knocked in a run.
Adding 2 hits each were Kinsley Barrow and Taner Tyler.
