The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County discussed a wide range of items during its recent work session, including emergency alerts, animal control, roads, recreation, etc.
EMA Director Johnny Floyd and a guest from Muscogee County EMA informed commissioners about a potential new emergency warning system. It's a more targeted, specific system that would allow alerts to be tailored to a specific area (like say two miles from the site of an accident). Another benefit to the system is that people don't have to sign up for it. Also, the alerts could go to anyone passing through the area and not just locals who are on file to receive the alerts....
