Schley County High scored a road win over a quality opponent last Friday, Sept. 29 by beating Irwin County 20-6 in Ocilla.
"Irwin County has sort of a young team like we do, but they are good so this was a good win for us," said Head Coach Darren Alford. "We've played some really good teams so far. All of the teams we played before this game (Lamar County, Seminole County, Hawkinsville) are still undefeated."
Last Friday the Wildcats came out on fire and took a 13-0 lead in the first quarter. Afterwards, it was mostly a defensive battle. Irwin scored once in the second quarter; Schley scored one in the third quarter; and nobody scored in the fourth quarter.
