The Annual Forestry & Wildlife Expo in Buena Vista was a popular event again this year. Official figures weren't in at deadline, but well over 300 people attended (in addition to vendors and volunteers). The event was hosted by Marion County Middle-High School. There were around 50 exhibits manned by 47 exhibitors, who were there to share information and answer questions.
There were also several interesting speakers and demonstrations.
Braxton Crews (Marion/Webster Extension) spoke on Pond Management. Devon Dartnell, Director of Forest Services, Utilization & Marketing for the Georgia Forestry Commission, spoke on the topic of Forest Markets in West Central Georgia. Kevin Rose, Assistant State Deer Biologist, shared information on Chronic Wasting Disease.
