 Officials Say Proposed 15.14 Percent Property Tax Would Be Temporary If Voters Pass New Sales Tax
  As previously reported, the Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County plans to increase the millage (property tax) rate from 8.512 to 9.504. However, commissioners gave property owners some potentially great news during recent public hearings held on the proposed increase.
 They reminded everyone that a new Floating Local Option Sales Tax will be on the ballot this November. It has been described as a 1% sales tax that would generate revenue to reduce property taxes. But it may do more than reduce them.
