Buena Vista Awarded $1 Million Grant for Park

 City Also Looks Forward to Downtown Renovation
  The City of Buena Vista was recently awarded a grant of up to $1 million from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to build a new City Park, which will be named Josh Gibson Park after the famous professional baseball player.
 However, it's a 50/50 grant, so city officials have to come up with matching funds before they can proceed with the big plan. Since the grant is for up to $1 million, it could be less. For example, if the city only comes up with $200,000, then the state grant would also be for $200,000.
 Mayor Kevin Brown noted that "in kind" expenses, like handling some of the construction work in-house, can go toward the city's 50% of the expenses.
