Chatt Officials Discuss Trail, Events Area, Much More

In a recent work session, members of the Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County discussed ongoing projects like the development of a trail and an event area, as well as topics to potentially vote on in their next regular meeting.
Trail: County Manager Thomas Weaver informed commissioners that the next step in their effort to create a "Rails to Trails" style trail is to choose an engineer for the project. As recently reported, the county has been awarded a $600,000 grant for this project. It requires a 50/50 match, but Weaver confirmed that the county's 50% of matching "funds" doesn't have to actually be all money. In-kind expenses (like use of equipment and clearing land) can go toward the county's portion.
