Former Ellaville City Manager is Dead

A criminal investigation in Ellaville that shocked the community has now turned tragic.
Former Ellaville City Manager Donna Lynn McChargue is dead at age 50, after having been found in her home. The Journal was unable to get official comments from authorities by our Monday deadline, but it was reported that medical responders and law enforcement officials were at her home, which was taped off, on Sunday. No cause of death had been released.
McChargue had been arrested and charged with 29 counts of theft by taking. The charges stem from her role with the City of Ellaville's local government.
She began working for the City of Ellaville as a billing clerk in October 2014 and was named City Manager in June 2015.
