 Members of the Chattahoochee County Historic Preservation Society recently conducted a scheduled maintenance visit to the Historic Chattahoochee County Jail, located at the corner of Mt. Olive and Boyd Street in Cusseta.
 Built in 1902, the two-story fireproof structure is a significant example of early 20th-century civic architecture. Constructed at a cost of $5,000, the building replaced the county's original two-story log jail from the 1850s. The facility remained in active use until 1975 and was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 13, 1986. A historical marker commemorating the site was dedicated on September 14, 2002.
