Marion County has New Tax Commissioner

Marion County officially has a new constitutional officer. Probate Judge Heather Stuart administered the oath of office to Tax Commissioner Georgina Harvey last Wednesday.
Harvey takes over for retired Tax Commissioner Phylis Blocker after serving as her understudy for the last six years.
In addition to not being new to the office, she's not new to the community. While technically not a "native" the "Army Brat" and Navy veteran has spent most of her life in Buena Vista. She was born in Germany but her local roots run deep, as both of her parents, Ronnie and Sabrina Harvey were born and raised here. The family moved bac to Marion County when Georgina was in the first grade.
