Schley Officials Focus on Projects, Successes, and More

 The Schley County Board of Commissioners addressed an extensive slate of local infrastructure projects, department reports, and regional matters during its regular meeting on Monday, August 17.
Road Department & LMIG Upgrades: Road improvement projects took center stage as commissioners reviewed local progress under the Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program. Scruggs Co. has completed the paving work on Mt. Zion Road, with striping now complete and plans made to build up the road's shoulders.
 Bids for paving on Candy Cane Lane were scheduled to open August 20, so they should come in soon. With current LMIG funds standing at $884,585, officials noted that Mt. Zion will cost approximately $400,000, leaving remaining funds to apply toward sub...
