From Building a Program to the Pressbox
The Friday Night Lights and the August heat were both palpable in Wildcat Stadium on August 28, but as the crowd filtered into the bleachers, the air was charged with something far greater than football. It was a night to honor a man who has gone by many titles - teacher, coach, athletic director, administrator, and "Voice of the Wildcats".
Standing near the end zone, Rusty Tondee looked around the stadium once he learned he was about to be the subject of a ceremony. He was overwhelmed when more than twenty members of his family walked onto the field to stand beside him - a masterfully kept secret orchestrated by his wife, Traci, who had spent decades anchoring their home through 11 p.m. game nights and endless seasons....
