The Schley County School System was recently awarded the "Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness" through a federal/state program to be prepared for various potential disasters.
"It is with great pleasure we announce your school has been awarded the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness in its pilot year," wrote Mark Muma, Program Manager for the Georgia Department of Education's School Safety Division. "Your application was reviewed by experts at the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Emergency Management, and the Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and found to meet the requirements for this distinction. Congratulations on your efforts towards achieving school safety best practices."
